About me
I’m a software engineer currently writing Ruby on Rails for CleanCounts (formerly M-RETS) through a consulting job with Tarmac. You can download my résumé here.
A long time ago I actively participated in open source, but I’ve distanced myself from most of it.
In recent years I dedicated myself to my wife, cats, and dog, and to improving myself through a healthier relationship with exercise and study. There are a lot of hobbies I enjoy partaking in from time to time (which I probably should write about here), i.e., woodworking, gardening, electronics, bookbinding. I used to play video games much more than I do now, but here are the titles and franchises I still interact with these days:
- Pokémon: The story of my life is deeply connected with Pokémon in more ways than people tend to assume when talking about it. I met my wife through a Pokémon-centered forum, met several lifelong friends, and ended up traveling the world, from Australia to Europe to the US, because of it. In 2024 I went back to playing to playing competitively and even managed to compete at the World Championship back in 2025.
- Guild Wars 2: I’ve played GW2 since 2012, with occasional long breaks, but it’s still one of my favorites titles of all time.
- Atelier Series: I played mostly during the PS3 era, with Atelier Rorona and Meruru, but this series’ focus on crafting and the whole aesthetic always captivated me. I recently played through the Atelier Ryza DX trilogy on the Switch 2 and want to experience the other games of the franchise I haven’t yet.
